The online resource for NUJ London magazine journalists
This month’s meeting will explore the impact of Covid-19 on journalism and the magazine sector in particular, and what we as NUJ activists can do about it.
Already we are hearing of cutbacks at major publishers of magazines as ad revenues are threatened, despite many titles experiencing record highs in traffic, highlighting the dysfunction at the heart of funding models for publishing.
Ian Taylor, branch member and executive editor at a trade magazine, and Michael Pooler, FT Chapel member and NEC representative, will lead off a discussion about the state of our industry and what the post-pandemic future could look like for members – and the role of the NUJ recovery plan in rebuilding a better and more sustainable media.
In addition we will have workplace reports and members’ clinic for support on any work related issues.
