London Magazine Branch Meeting
Monday 18 November
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act can be a powerful tool for magazine journalists, to provide vital data for research, test the impact of Government policy or hold a public body to account.
Making a request for information under the FOI Act is fairly straightforward, but making a really effective FOI request can be tricky.
In this practical workshop, Katherine Gundersen from the Campaign for Freedom of Information will explain when to use the FOI Act and how to plan and execute your requests to ensure you get the information you really need.
Aimed at both beginners and those who already make FOI requests, the course will be interactive to help you work out how best to apply the Act in a variety of situations.
Plus branch business– including finalising motions for NUJ #DM2020
Sandwiches and light refreshments provided. Reasonable travel and childcare costs to branch meetings can be covered – please contact the Branch Treasurer Alan Gibson – alangibson10@hotmail.com
